Hormone Replacement Therapy - How it works

Labwork:

To get started on our Hormone Replacement therapy we first have you get an extensive lab panel. This lab includes over 50 individual tests that our physicians require to properly diagnose your hormonal status. For your convenience we utilize LabCorp, reference labarotory. LabCorp offers all of the specific tests that we require, they also have drawing stations throughout the country. We have negotiated very low cash prices for our specific panel. The cash price is approximately $350.00. LabCorp has also a negotiated price with most PPO insurances. You may utilize your insurance for labwork, although LabCorp will bill your insurance directly (Griffin Medical Group is no longer involved if that is your choice).

Initial Appointment:

Our initial appointments will take about 2 hours from start to finish. You will spend 1 hour with your physician, during this hour the physician will give you a complete physical, review your personal medical history, review your family medical history, go over the results of your labs, and prescribe a treatment plan that best suits your unique needs.

• Wiley Protocol® (Women only) The Wiley Protocol® is a trademarked, patent pending delivery system consisting of bio-identical estradiol and progesterone in a topical cream preparation dosed to mimic the natural hormones produced by your body when you were 20 years-old. The creams and their amounts vary throughout the 28 day cycle to mimic the hormone levels of youth when heart disease and stroke, Type II diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease weren’t immediate concerns. Approximately 80% of women with a uterus will have perfectly normal regular menstrual periods every 28 days.
• Advanced Protocol - This protocol emphasizes the treatment of Estrogen and Progesterone deficiencies among women through the use of a topical cream, as well supplementing other essential hormones in which the patient is deficient. Most often the estradiol and progesterone are prescribed in the same manner as The Wiley Protocol,®. This Treatment is not associated with T. S. Wiley or the Wiley Protocol®.
• Anti-Aging - Our Anti-Aging protocol treats all hormonal imbalances through the use of topical creams, capsules, and or injections. All of our hormones are Bio-Identical.

Follow Up Appointments:

Griffin Medical Group requires that you have a follow up appointment every 3 months during the first year of treatment. This is to ensure that your hormone levels are at the correct level and to ensure that your treatment is optimal for you. Prior to each follow up appointment you will be required to have your labs completed. After one year of treatment your follow up appointments will be every 6 months. Once you start your 3rd year you will only be required to follow up once a year. Any patients experiencing any discomfort or problems are strongly encouraged to contact us immediately. All of our patients are welcome to call our office at any time to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Pharmacy:

Griffin Medical Group has undergone a rigorous selection process for the compounding pharmacy that we utilize. Essential Pharmacy is located in Nebraska and meets or exceeds our needs and expectations. All orders are shipped discretely directly to your home. Typically your order will ship out the day after you place your order. All orders are shipped via UPS 2nd day. Patients will need to arrange with UPS for delivery (normally leaving a note on your door will suffice).
