Default Laser Peel and Micro Laser Peel

Can you tell me the differences between the Laser Peel, Micro Laser Peel, and a Microdermabrasion? I am a little confused about the levels and the effects of each one.
Thank you,

Sandy J.

At our office, a laser peel consists of a computerized erbium laser treatment using the advanced Sciton laser. The laser peel causes ablation of the skin to a pre-determined depth(microns). The doctor would evaluate your face and neck and based on the sun damage, acne or other scarring, wrinkles and aging as well as your requirements for down time he would determine the depth of peel.
A microlaser peel goes down to sixty microns and anything deeper is considered laser resurfacing. We also perform Artic Peels which are a series of five 5 or more ten micron peels using the Zimmer chiller. These are performed every two weeks and there is minimal downtime.
Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique that helps repair facial skin that takes a beating from the sun and the effects of aging. The tecnician uses a device like a fine sandblaster to spray tiny crystals across the face, mixing gentle abrasion with suction to remove the dead, outer layer of skin. As with other skin rejuvenation techniques, more than one treatment may be needed to reduce or remove fine wrinkles and unwanted pigmentation. Microdermabrasion takes off up to ten microns of the outer layer of the skin.
